Based in Tampa, FL, vocalist-guitarist Al “Coffee” McDaniel has been wowing local crowds with his husky, soulful baritone and crisp, bluesy riffs. Singing songs of betrayal, lust, and longing, McDaniel captures the angst-ridden grit and lonely-midnight woe of vintage blues. On the first disc of this double album, McDaniel’s scorching guitar crackles with heartache and wounded pride. By the second CD, though, McDaniel shifts gears, venturing into the bedroom balladry of Al Green, Barry White, and Marvin Gaye. Collectively they produce a one-two punch, a combustible mix of blues, soul, and smooth jazz.

A seasoned vet, McDaniel has electrified packed crowds in Las Vegas, Nevada, including at the MGM Grand Hotel; Atlanta, Georgia; and New York, New York. He has also toured Europe and Asia and has even performed with artists like Billy Paul, Gene Chandler, the comedian Sinbad, Joe Simon, and Denise Lasalle.
