Sax
Kari is
known throughout the world as a Blues &
Jazz legend. He is also known as “Candy
Yams.” He has traveled the world for over 50
years. He
was tutored by the great “Fats” Waller. He
is a master on the piano, violin, oboe,
mellophone, coronet, guitar and the saxophone.
He is also a singer songwriter, publisher,
promo man and conductor all rolled into
one. He
has played with such greats as Eddie Durham,
Tiny Bradshaw, Al Donohue, Abe Lyman, Stan
Kenton, Jerry Wald, Bobby Caldwell, K.C. &
The Sunshine Band and George McCrae to name a
few. Some
of the names he uses to play and record under
are: Sax Kari, “Dirty Red” Morgan, Ira
Green, Texas Red, The Prince Royals, The Alley
Cats and Kitty and "Candy
Yams". He
has been very instrumental in establishing the
careers of many successful artists throughout
the music industry.
